We made it! We’ve ended the year with a few special events that have brought us closer together as a school and learning community.
A couple of weeks ago we held our Birkdale Family Picnic; it was a lovely way to end the year. As well as our picnic, last Thursday at our school prizegiving we acknowledged students who had worked hard in learning and contributed positively to our school culture. Congratulations once again to our ‘value | uara’ and ‘learning | ako’ winners.
Yesterday, we said goodbye to our 2023 Year 6 cohort. This was the first time the leavers certificates had been given out separately to prize giving. Doing it this way meant our Year 6’s had a moment just for themselves. It wasn’t long, but it was special. We are so proud of the people they are growing up to be and wish them all the best at Intermediate.
Finally, I wish all our whānau and students the very best over our summer break. I hope you manage to pause and spend time with those who matter most to you.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Whaea Natasha
